“I love that my little garden produces food for my table. Grateful for this little harvest!”
The above caption expresses it well: why Mennonites like to grow things.
Some Mennonites are good horticulturists who like to grow things for their beauty alone , even though it is a lot of work.
Even when the time comes to give up the garden and the big yard there is room even in the small balcony for flowers.
The vegetable garden hasn’t been quite forgotten however. If you look hard you might see a dill plant trying to make itself known among the flowers. After all one needs to have dill pickles on the dinner table.
