Description:
The samovar belonged to Linda's grandmother, Mr.s Johanna Paetkau. The Paekau family lived in Einlage, Chortiza, Ukraine. The escaped from the Soviety Union following WW II and were able to get as far as berlin before they were sent back to the U.S.S.R. in 1944, and exiled to Siberia. Frm there they were senty to Dachande, Uzbekistan. The Paetkau family [passed the samovar on to Hugo and Linda during a visit in 1970.
